State report shows more than $28 million raised for charities tied to Newtown school shooting

HARTFORD, Conn. — People from Connecticut, across the U.S. and around the world have donated more than $28 million to charities in the wake of the deadly 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, according to a report released Tuesday.
