Wisconsin officials want to streamline hires; union leaders fear changes could mean cronyism

MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Scott Walker's administration is looking at ways to speed hiring for state civil service jobs, sparking a new round of suspicion among union leaders still reeling from the governor's push to strip most public workers of nearly all their union rights.
