are the Chinese "castoffs" on the US team US citizens? If not, how are they on the US team? Seems like there's a lot of athletes competing for countries they're not from because they manipulate citizenship / residency / lineage rules. To me this kind of bastardizes the nationalistic traditions the Olympics represent(ed); then again, there's a lot the Olympics has bastardized over the last 20 years.

Go smash the faces of your Chineese competitors in with that little plastic ball as proud Americans! I'm going to play beer pong...

I am 99 percent sure that you must be a citizen of your country in order to compete. Numerous naturalized citizens compete for the U.S., like our flag bearer from Sudan. The U.S. is actually fairly tight about granting citizenship to athletes, unlike some countries.

This message targeted to US media coverage of the Olympics. Cover the entire Olympics, dont just spends HOURS on Gymnas, Swimming, Diving etc...and have NO times for Table Tennis, Badminton, Shooting and the rest of all the events that traditionally US media would not even touch. If some will argue the validity of what mentioned, if there was/were, it's very little comparing to the "main" events that US teams have better hope to get something than others. Open our people eyes to new things, eventhough we might not be so good at it just yet. After all, the younger generation live or die, and/or can compete with the world depending how responsible those money making "A** H****" decide how they want run the bussiness. It's ashame...ABC,NBC, MSNBC,FOX or whatever you are....cover the entire event. Dont have time, dont have to show at once. We dont mind seeing them after the show is over....
