North Dakota appeals after judge overturns law that bans abortions if fetal heartbeat detected

BISMARCK, N.D. — North Dakota's attorney general said Wednesday the state was appealing a judge's ruling that overturned a state law banning abortions as soon as a fetal heartbeat can be detected, which can be as early as six weeks into a pregnancy.
