'Very lucky' Chapman has surgery to repair broken bone after scary episode on mound

GOODYEAR, Ariz. — Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman underwent a 2½-hour operation Thursday to repair a broken bone above his left eye but has no other serious injuries after being hit in the face by a line drive in a spring training game.
