I would like to thank all the men and women who worked their butts off clearing up the disaster of the roads that were present starting Thursay/Friday. Truly amazing job as well as some luck having the weekend and some sunshine and a bit of a warming to help get rid of the ice rinks on our roads.

With all the public transportation in the city, maybe cars should be banned from ownership by city residents.

i propose that we cut back on highway mowing, and keep the pothole fixing and snow plowing in the budget.

Betsy Hodges would love it if they banned cars!

Friends, why in the world are you living in a place when you can't even use the roads safely for days on end? Why are you doing this to yourself and your family year after year. Seven month winter, come on. Make a plan and move to a warmer community. You will thank me. That is all.

As someone who's lived all around uptown for 30 years, you go with the flow. It's better to live where you can walk, shop, eat, and more than in the suburbs. Find a spot to put your car and don't complain.

So if I live in Mpls am I to park on the odd side of the street until further notice? On days with odd numbers? Or is it just today? Strib could have helped explain it.

mglovett: It's every day until further notice. Go to the city's website or call 612-348-SNOW.

They should have no parking on one side of all streets, even the snow emergency ones. They are getting extremely narrow with snow and cars on both sides too. I met a fire EMS truck on my way to work today, we could not both fit between the cars on both sides, I waited for him to go by.

But I agree, just pull your car into your nice heated 3 car garage and don't complain.
