January 10, 2008 the Wild team was sold, changed management and philosophy. this new group managing the Wild have really not done anything, the results have been worse, the effort from the players has been dismal in general. Fans seem to buy tickets it seems, nice pick up on Suter and Parise..... Fletch and Leo should have sense of urgency about the goaltending situation given the reasons stated in this article, if they don't and they finish in a real rotten way like they did last year. Last year it took a gift from the NHL to make the playoffs after poor Chuck Kobasews goal was reversed in Colorado. Remember the Edmonton and Calgary games at home to end last season, those games were the worst, you had to win and they were bombed on home ice, I remember FSN trying like the dickens to somehow spin these horrible results to the worst teams in the NHL at a time when they had to win to make the playoffs as being ok.... Watching those FSN guys are worth every penny I pay on my cable bill, they could justify this winter as being mild

Hopefully they will ride Keumper, should they get to the playoffs, so he can get experience. Backstrom is a veteran, but he has only played in 11 playoff games in his career. The last time was 6 years ago, so I doubt that experience would be helpful now.

To anyone paying attention the past two years, Ryan Miller sucks. Simple as that. Whatever he once was, he is no longer. Just sign Theodore and be done with it.

And ride Keumper, like mgalaforet says.

Brodeur's too old. As a rental/safety valve, maybe he makes sense. But looking beyond this year? No. Stay with Kuemper and try to unload Backstrom (I know, I know). And count on Harding leaving at the end of the season. Much as I'd like to see him succeed, MS is a tough disease and it's not likely to get any better for him anytime soon. -------- Oh, and Garth Snow, when was the last time the Islanders reimbursed STHs for either an injury or poor performance? So if Tavares got injured in the Coliseum, tough on STHs but since he got hurt at the Olympics, now you're out money? YOU'RE the joke here.

Jose Theodore. I bet he could be signed for a bargain.

Garth Snow needs to stop communicating with other humans.

I agree with the point about NHL'ers not being in the Olympics. Imagine if we lost Parise for the rest of the season. I'd say AHL (and international equivalents) and below for the teams. As an NHL fan, I want to see the talent playing NHL games and didn't give a rip about Olympic hockey.

Garth Snow is an idiot who has a job because he has an owner who knows nothing, if Tavares tears his knee playing ball with childhood friends should his buddies reimburse the team - no it was his choice. Garth will not get another GM job after this one - a true sign of a terrible GM!
