Where you park in Minneapolis matters, at least when it comes to snow emergencies.

There is also a lack of traffic enforcement, and parking enforcement in SW. And if you call 311 to complain it takes hours for a response.

Not to just be all agreeable or anything, but their explanation of where they prioritize towing actually makes sense.

hahaha so typical! just like those fancy bus stops downtown on 2nd ave and Marquette for those coaches that take folks to the suburbs. the busiest bus stop is on 7th street for the #5 and the only amenity they get is a security camera! SW Mpls towing? no sir! But rest assured Minnesota Nice: race and wealth have nothing to do with towing or bus stops. Also noticed not much towing by Lake of the Isles or Mount Curve...

I'm not surprised! Le'ts leave the rich neighborhoods alone. That's where all the tax base is!! Absolutely ridiculous. Let everyone have the equal chance to be towed! :)

No towing up here in my corner of Northeast Ward 1, either. Neighbor left his vehicle on the wrong side, 3 plows went around him, he finally went and moved his vehicle long after. Now I have a huge pile of snow in front of my house. :( First world problems, but annoying.

Have heard they'll concentrate towing where it's the closest to the impound lot(s). Less distance equals more tows. Which makes sense. I guess. No tows over here in Longfellow, either.

give the contract to someone else! i am sure there were several towing agencies that tried to get the job in 2008 but were denied. let's hold the people accountable to do the work they said they would (and go south of 36th st). i live in SW and would love to see all the streets plowed in their entirety!

I'd guess it has more to do with the location of the impound lot and the ability of the contractors to tow more cars in the same amount of time from other areas of the city.
