Look at the history of raising the minimum wage. Every time it has been raised the economy has taken off and more jobs were created. Why in heaven does anybody want to see their fellow citizens working hard at a minimum wage that keeps them under the poverty line? Compassion is not only good politics it is good economics.

The majority of Americans that favor raising the wage obviously have their reasons. The tea partiers apparently think the majority is stupid.

"Why in heaven does anybody want to see their fellow citizens working hard at a minimum wage that keeps them under the poverty line? Compassion is not only good politics it is good economics." Because many people who are "working" are not creating $10/hr of labor for the company. Compassion with someone elses' money is not compassion, it's theft.

Maybe the government is tired of feeding and housing company workforces.

Maybe those opposed want to try for another government subsidy to give "trickle down" another try.

How is feeding and housing a company's workforce any different than providing company vehicles with gas and a parking lot?

Walker is going to give it a try to eliminate unemployment in Wisconsin by eliminating minimum wage altogether. . . . . SNAP is a federal program and Wisconsinites won't be making enough money to be paying federal tax and many will qualify for tax credits.

Why dont we just raise minimum wage to 20 bucks an hour, we then eliminate the need for college and working at McDonalds can be a career choice, the only problem is your big mac will be 12 dollars.

"How is feeding and housing a company's workforce any different than providing company vehicles with gas and a parking lot?" ------ You are proceeding from the false assumption that it is the government's job to provide a minimum social safety hammock for everyone with money taken by force from others. This is NOT the role of government, it is the role of WILLING members of a community or charity.
