LINCOLN, Neb. — Just as pressure was building on President Barack Obama to make a decision on the Keystone XL pipeline that would carry oil from Canada to refineries in Texas, the project ran into another obstacle — and it came again from Nebraska.

Excellent news - this one lone state's refusal to allow eminent domain confiscation as close as 50' from residential homes and hold off this boondoggle is very encouraging. The only profits to be made from allowing the pipeline to run through the heartland of America are the Koch's refineries in TX and the Canadians. A new CBO report broke down all the factors and determined that, after the installation, only 35 permanent jobs will remain. Why should we allow Canada risk our environment for their own profit?

Sorry buddy; but this pipeline, if it ever get's built, won't help us one iota towards energy independence. It's so the Canadian tar sand sludge can get to the Houston refineries and then sold to the highest bidder on the world market.

With or without the Keystone pipeline the USA is shackled to the world price for oil. Is there any suggestions from North Dakota or Canada they want to sell their oil at a discount so that the fantasy of cheap plentiful gasoline at the pump in the USA becomes reality? No. They want to sell crude oil at the world market price. The pipeline will supply existing Houston refiners with crude and their refined product will be available to feed the world market through the port of Houston. Certainly nobody is going to ship Houston refined product back to Minnesota or Canada.

Forget Canada, we need to pipe North Dakota crude , but more importantly, PROPANE!
