Playing in the Olympics on the big sheet can't be compared to NHL on the smaller ice sheet, you watch those Olympic contests and some of the games look like your watching one of those NHL All Star Games, that being said, its been said that Grandlund admires Selane as a kind of an Icon figure from his childhood (Fellow Finlander made good) I expect Grandlund and Parise to play with a buzz after the olympics and that will last a little while before going back to normal. As for Koivou, I would think he is tradeable now for sure, I don't see how the team strives with him in the lineup. I would say that the Wild are in the playoff picture because of a favorable schedule, I will explain another time my findings, hehehehehe...

The Wild's best overall forward, Koivu, tradeable? Very much so Bhr. GM Fletch willing to commit career suicide to do it, very, very remote chance of doing it.

Being a glass half full guy, I would hope that when Mikko comes back, he feels the need to prove himself, as many of the commenters do.

jabuyer, he had more points than Parise when he was injured. He is one of the best face-off men in the NHL. He plays the most minutes of any Wild forward per game. He has nothing to prove. You need to prove comment is misdirected. If you think he should be scoring more, considering Zach Parise maket 60% more than Mikko, then you should be expecting 60% more offense from Zach Parise.

I agree that Fletch should consider shopping Koivu. No doubt he is a great face off guy and the Wild are in desperate need of that. He has the potential to be a great 2 way player, however key word here is his "potential". For whatever reason, not sure you can say he has even come close to reaching his potential, especially when you consider his contract vs his productivity. Maybe he plays hurt more than we really know, but if you watch him closely the quality of his shifts are inconsistent at best.
