SOCHI, Russia — Right from the start of the tournament, the only way to envision the Russians winning a gold medal in hockey was to close both eyes and keep them shut.

Bad outcome - yes, but Russian came within a disallowed goal of beating the US. Teams that win games like that can do much better than anyone has a right to expect, with Miracle on Ice illustrated. Kicking an opponent when he is down, which is exactly what this article does, is just bad sportsmanship. The comments from the Finnish playing, representing a country Russia has pushed around for years, have much more class than the rest of what was said here.

WhTever happened to the Soviet team oriented passing and cycling thar revolutionized hockey. The Russians are great talents but not good team players. No heart when it mattered!
