MOSCOW — After a heated U.S.-Russia hockey match at the Sochi Olympics on Saturday, many Russian spectators have decided the cold war is back — and not just on the ice.

The rules state that you can not score a goal when the goal is dislodged. Since the net was off the goal the Russians "scored" was, rightly, disallowed. It sounds like a bunch of Russian crybabies that should go back and learn the rules.

It wasn't even a medal round game, who cares. I didn't protest the Canadian embassy when they got a goal after the whistle vs the US women's team.

I am surprised that protocol isn't in place to ensure referees from either competing country aren't involved with matches. I know they come out of a pool but I would think computer programs could address that point.

I remind the Russian protesters of the Olympic basketball game of many years ago won by the USSR. I don't remember all the details but here's the gist of the matter. After time expired, time was put back on the clock 3 diferent times and the USSR team was allowed to inbound the ball 3 different times until they scored the winning basket!!! At least the goal disallowed was supported by an object video!!
