There is nothing in the story to say blizzard - you know, high winds, treacherous temperatures, and lots of snow. It's just going to be snow. Who the heck writes your headlines these days? Teach them to read the stories and not invent crap. Also, do a little research. From Wikipedia: A blizzard is a severe snowstorm caused by strong sustained winds of at least 56 km/h (35 mph) and lasting for a prolonged period of time – typically three hours or more.

How can the STRIB use the word Blizzard in their headlines. Channel 11, which gives realistic forecasts, as opposed to some others that are sensationalized is predicting 2 - 3 inches. I realize it's going to be a mess during the morning commute but this is a nuisance snowfall.

It's about time we had a good old-fashioned winter for a change! Of course, I now live in Texas, and only come back for the occassional cold weather visit......lol

I'm counting down my last winters here. It's easier to take when you know there is light at the end of the tunnel.

According to Paul Douglas' forecast we will see winds around 9mph, not 35mph. Clearly the "journalist" who penned the headline of this article is not from MN and/or knows absolutely nothing about weather. Most likely, both.

Headlines don't always have to be cute and catchy.

They put "blizzard" in the headline so people would be more inclined to read the article and see the ads. Mission accomplished.

These Strib reporters must not have been alive during the seventies here in MN.

The national weather service's winter storm warning says only to travel in an emergency? Really? What is going on? The NWS is predicting numerous accidents. Are we to stay home on Monday? For a predicted 4 to 5 inches of snow? Next thing you know, Al Roker will get on the mayors case for not closing school. ( kidding - I know it's a school holiday).
