CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Just 87 votes at the Volkswagen plant in Tennessee separated the United Auto Workers union from what would have been its first successful organization of workers at a foreign automaker in the South.

No, say it isn't so! Do you mean to tell me that the union was not able to convince a majority of the voters that they would be so much better off paying dues to a union vs keeping that money for themselves? There truly is some intelligence left. Hope and Change is alive and well despite everything the current administration has done to destroy it!

Unions are so yesterday. Today with the US having the highest corporate tax rate in the world and losing ground in the global economy, just say no thanks.

Unions are so "yesterday?" Please explain why most of our competitors in durable good manufacturing such as Korea, Japan and the EU are almost universally unionized. The Tennessee plant is the ONLY VW plant that is NOT unionized. US Labor law may need renewal and many US Unions certainly have structural problems but Unionized labor is the rule in Western democracies. This election will be held again, likely by court order due to the interference in the vote by political types in Tennessee... Interference, I will add, that has led to questions in the European press as to whether EU corporations ought to be placing plants in the US South.

Just remember this vote was in the southern United States. Being on the right side of history is not something they are too good at.

And the politician says: vote for the union and I will work to pass laws against you. A politician made a direct threat against those votes. Very uncivil, but it is the south and their politicians have a history of that, don't they?

Unions have destroyed this country...first the great lakes..then mfg...now the schools and the government..our freedoms are gone..isn't it time we rebuild this country...the unions take perfectly productive people and turn them into time wasting zombies..why has no one commented on this..is it really that big ---
