good, and instead of building the new stadium, upgrade seating to NFL standards and let the vikings and gophers share a stadium forever. They never play on the same day, between the two of them they play 20 games a year max, and they are three miles apart.

Is it safe to say that since turf is being replaced that the heating system is "In ground" as opposed to a cover?

They better figure a way to sell beer in cold weather. Beer sales at the Hockey City Classic were a disaster.

By winterizing the stadium does that mean that they are installing heat lamps in the concourses, like they have at Target Field?

Another fabulous story from the Star that again fails to provide the details of what will be improved and exactly how they will. Thanks for saying that there are going to be over 6 million but leave out the meat and potatoes of those improvements.....

Second paragraph: "The changes — including a new heating system for the playing field — will be billed to the Vikings," Third paragraph: "The Vikings’ spokesman, Jeff Anderson, said Wednesday that the money will come from the $975 million Vikings stadium budget, which is funded by public and private dollars." So billed to the Vikings, but paid by the government.

Exactly, kivirl4! Demolish the dome, pay off everyone to that point and tell Wilf to take a hike or take TCF. A very small minority of people would find fault with that. The outdoor fans will love it, the taxpayers most certainly will and a huge development blocking wart will be absent, letting the area to finally proceed as it should, without contrived development.

So if I read between the lines. Improvements include 1750 seats which if sold at $100 bucks for 8 home games 2 years is 2.8M ziggy which he keeps because the 6million he is being billed is being billed to vikes but paid out of public fund. Just nuts beyond nuts

Billed to the billionaire, paid for by the middle class. Makes sense.
