Minnesota Gophers to honor US Hockey Hall of Famer John Mayasich at Friday game

MINNEAPOLIS — The University of Minnesota will honor U.S. Hockey Hall of Famer John Mayasich during Friday's Big Ten game against Michigan at Mariucci Arena.

John Mayasich, 1951-55 G: 144 A: 154 Pts: 298 (that's 2.68 pts/game). That's all you need to know. These numbers may never be eclipsed.

His stats are unrivaled. With all of his records in the state tourney, its no wonder his teams didn't lose a game in four years of highschool play. (and by the way, his high school numbers are what they are when periods were only 12 minutes long)
