Seems that oil companies just can't keep from spilling things everywhere. BTW -is the this the "self regulation" that TeaPublicans keep talking about. It sounds more like theft to me.

So let me get this straight. Oil companies can make huge profits while they pollute our environment and then the taxpayer foots the bill for the cleanup? Ridiculous! Even if BP weren't involved in this ripoff, it boggles the mind that such a fund even exists.

It's the Nanny State telling a property owner what to do with their property, at gunpoint! Pure SOCIALISM!

@luzhishen--"It's the Nanny State telling a property owner what to do with their property, at gunpoint! Pure SOCIALISM!"---You don't actually own land in the United States. You lease it from the government through property taxes. That's why they can evict you for not paying property taxes. They can also tell you what you can and cannot put there and no they won't let you pollute it. Why you ask? Because it belongs to the government or in other words to ALL of the people of the united states. You don't really own anything in the world. You're only temporally holding it until you pass it along or you pass on. The condition you leave these things in is a direct reflection of your character.
