Philly education officials consider following other US cities using universal enrollment model

PHILADELPHIA — When it's time to enroll in school in Philadelphia, students face a bewildering array of choices: Neighborhood public school? Cyber school? Charter? Private or religious school? What about a specialty district school focused on science? Performing arts? International affairs?

Community schools with the appropriate funding and quality teachers is the best option. It strengthens and teaches children to value their communities. Many studies also say that it is more cost efficient. St. Paul under Superintendent Silva is a good example.
