If Speilman thought releasing Henderson was a "tough decision"..........fans are in trouble.

Picking and keeping the consensus next pick usually proves to be wise. Just look at what McHale did trying to outsmart the NBA. Spielman has proven he is not a successful deal maker. He should try to get some late draft successes. Early picks are easy.

The #1 priority should be making the most of the picks you have, not getting picks just to have them. The rule of thumb is QUALITY, not quantity. It's something Spielman has always struggled to understand.

Trade back in the first round if no one is there that we like, simple as that. The Spielman bashing on here however is absolutely ridiculous. He screwed up on Ponder, but nearly every GM has screwed up on a quarterback; it's a process that usually involves some failures before you find a success. Here's hoping we find success this time around (note: not picking a quarterback in the first round would be a wise choice this time around however).

Only way that's done is by trading down. Probably giving up on getting one of top 3 QBs and going for defense. Too bad we need to replace 6 of the starting 5 defensive players. Joke.

Hey WaterBunker, Spielman fooled Cleveland into trading up in the 2012 draft to move ahead of us to get Trent Richardson (who has been a major bust, by the way), while we got Matt Kalil (who we wanted all along) and three extra draft picks, one of which was Jarius Wright and another allowed him to trade up to get Harrison Smith. Then last year, after the whole league knew Harvin wanted out of Minnesota, he somehow managed to get Seattle to trade us three draft picks for him, one of which was Xavier Rhodes, who was a decent CB for us, and the extra 3rd rounder we get this year. Plus in 2013, Spielman used some of his extra picks to trade up to get Cordarelle Patterson, who did a fairly decent Harvin imitation without the migranes and other drama. So what were the deals Spielman made that prove he is not a successful deal maker?

8, 9, 10 picks, does it really matter? He passed on Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick.
