Waaaaaaaaaaaaay over paid. The guys on this list hit 40+ ding dongs and 120+ rbi's. Another twins move that doesn't add up

All the players on the 1st base list are way overpaid but watching a couple of them already start to erode in power numbers REALLY makes them overpaid. I would rather stay with Mauer then be stuck with a prematurely aging Puhols or Fielder. When all of the players on the list are retired it will be interesting to see what kind of numbers each has and how they compare.

That Ryan Howard contract has looked good for the past two seasons.

Really Skeptik? Fielder is the only one on that list that is still producing at a good rate. ALL of the others have fallen off or been completely riddled with injury. Baby J could easily be the second best producing first baseman this season on the salary list.

not really a fair comparison ... he was a catcher when he signed his contract.

Let's see if Mauer actually plays in more games and has better production then the last couple years or if he has similar stats and more owies he has to take weeks off for before he is anointed a top 1st baseman.

The players compared to Mauer had multiple good to great seasons to earn their paydays. Mauer had one, ONE great year and combined that with Target Field opening, lucked him into the albatross contract the Twins gave him.
