True story: In the 80s a passenger on a Seattle to east coast flight lit up a cigar (cigarettes were allowed at that time but not pipes or cigars) and refused to put it out after directed to by the crew. So they diverted to Minot, ND and he was removed from the plane. After spending the night in Minot, the other airlines refused to sell him another ticket, so he had to take a bus home. I assume it must have been a really good cigar.

Maybe they should stop serving alcohol in airports and on planes altogether. That would immediately stop most of these unruly passenger issues. Can't get on a plane without a drink? Then take a train.

I hope this passenger is on the hook for all charges associated with the landing / taking at MSP!

Why are we stuck with her? Another 30 minutes and they could have dumped her in Minot and let her walk to SLC.
