California leaders unveil proposed bill requiring 'kill switch' to stop smartphone theft

SAN FRANCISCO — Legislation unveiled Friday in California would require smartphones and other mobile devices to have a "kill switch" to render them inoperable if lost or stolen — a move that could be the first of its kind in the country.

Government is going to tell the tech industry they must build in security software into wireless phones at a cost to all who buy because a certain segment of our society are thieves and criminals! The tail wagging the dog!
