Shabazz gets 6 points in only 6 minutes? .... Adelman? Hello? Old man? Stubborn mule? Give him more minutes!!!!

Classy performance by the Wolves-left-standing. GREAT effort by a severely under-gunned squad. I think Muhammad showed enough tonight to merit getting more of Brewer's minutes. Budinger is either done or not recovered from his knee injury. Hummel is at least Budinger's equal. Dieng has huge potential with regular minutes. Rubio, with space to penetrate, showed he can be an offensive force. The problem is, with Love and Pek taking up space he won't get that kind of room to drive. Martin has quit on this team. In addition, he has lost a step from when Adelman last had him, which is why OKC was willing to let him go. Shved, Barea, Budinger, Martin, and Mbah a Moute need to be traded for a prime time peace. Barea is gutsy but is not a prime time player, IMO.

And, Trey Burke wins his second Western Conference Rookie of the Month Award. If RR would at least give Shabuzz a chance to show what he can do we could see where he is at. But, we all know that is not going to happen. And, if Trey Burke had been kept by the Wolves, he would be riding pine for RR and we would have no idea what he could or couldn't do. The lesson here is, PLAY SHABAZZ to see if he can help this team win games. This stubborn refusal to give the kid a chance in a season where it is looking very doubtful that the Wolves can get to the 8th spot. Hey RR, maybe Shabazz can help spark this team. If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on getting what you've always got. They have proven themselves to be a .500 team all season. So, I don't know, maybe try something different. Flip, are you listening? This was your pick, do something about it.

It was nice finally seeing Shabaaz get some more meaningful minutes tonight. Too bad Adelman didn't put him in the game earlier. There is NO WAY that Budinger, Hummel, or Sved are better scorers than Muhammad. None of those three players has been consistent nor given much of a spark coming off the bench. Yes, lots of mistakes over the years with personnel on the Wolves. Thought flip could turn it around quickly but he basically put together a .500 team. Unfortunately he made some poor decisions and with Adelman's input I might add. There's always next year right?

Here comes a 4 - 5 game losing streak. What a pathetic team. Wolves suck, Gophers suck. No good sports team in Minnesota. Horrible.

Pretty gutsy effort from a team that was missing their best two players and had no business even being in this game. If Rubio can play like that more often.. The whole outlook of the team changes. And it does appear obvious that Budinger is not healthy.. Exactly why Mbah a Moute and Shabazz should be playing a lot. I like this team, but they need more athletes to compete in the West.

Congrats to Brewer on the birth of his son. Corey is good people and I'm sure he's a great dad.

Stubborn mule? Love it! A farmer who couldn't get his mule to do anything hired a mule trainer. The first thing the mule trainer does is pick up a 2x4 and cracks the mule upside its head with all his strength, dropping the mule to its knees. The farmer cries out, "What the H are you doing?" The mule trainer replies, "First, you have to get its attention."

I just wish Rubio could average 12-14 pts./game, it would make a huge difference in how this team is defended.

rghansenFeb. 6, 14 6:49 AM

The good teams play 12 minutes each quarter, while the Timberwolves play 10 or 11. Rubio should have a shooting coach with him all offseason---can't even be counted on to make free throw shots. Dieng is apparently as dumb as he looks. How can you lose track of where Derek Fisher or Kevin Durant are on the court? You have to pick them up at midcourt every time, not just when you feel like it. This team plays defense when it wants to, but won't expend the energy to play defense all of the time. This is the responsibility of the coaches
