Trade with a team your battling for a wildcard spot with? Speed for another anchor? Good luck Chad.

Oh, I think this guy will replace Parise or Koivu on the first line. Great move by GMCF!

Lucky Chad Rau, he gets traded to a fantastic team with great potential to win the cup. Why dont the Wild just trade all the young procpests away that they have for another unknown... I just dont at times understand thier mentality in trades

Minnesota sports, run by brilliant geniuses.

Young prospect? Rau was 27 years old and had an expiring contract at the end of the season. The Wild obviously didn't see him in its long term plans so flipped him for a younger guy still developing that plays a role they're lacking. This was a good trade all things considered but in the scheme of things is minor as Russo said.

remaggiemae1949, Chad Rau will likely never wear a Sharks sweater. That team is loaded and although Rau has a decent skill set he's way back in line in terms of ever getting called up. See Casey Wellman's career if you want to know how this all plays out for Rau.
