Aiken, of 'American Idol' fame, to run for Congress in North Carolina, cites work as educator

RALEIGH, N.C. — Former "American Idol" and "Celebrity Apprentice" runner-up Clay Aiken joined another high-profile contest Wednesday — this one to get elected to Congress in his native North Carolina.

"He says he considers Washington to be dysfunctional and will focus on jobs and the economy and the importance of education." Well, he's already touting the liberal credo. Might as well.
