Heroin is the worst of all the street drugs.

Sudden acne outbreaks are a red flag? I don't think that is true. It's not that easy to find. You would have to be looking for it. Nobody is going to casually offer you heroin. I have heard for 30 years that dealers give out free heroin to get you hooked so they can get you on the "comeback". Haven't seen that either and I've been around the block a few times.

The law does not have be named after dead children. Heroin has always killed and it has been around for a very long time. There are millions of parents who have lost their children to drugs and the violence that goes along with it.

How much of a moron do you have to be to try it the first time? Cant get addicted if you dont try it. It IS the fault of the user.

Oh, for heaven's sake people! Guess how many Minnesota teens used heroin last year, according to the 2013 Minnesota State Student Survey. None. 0.0. Quit panicking, and focus your attention on REAL problems.

We love Phil as he was the best. But get high on Vodka if needed, as it take 50 years to kill you. Not 50 seconds

I respect Carol Falkowski, as she is a font of knowledge about drug use in MN. I would add, however, that there is always a drug that is the scary drug of the year, or decade, or whatever. It's cocaine, then it's crack, then it's meth, then it's heroin. There are always "alarming statistics" related to drugs. My questions: Is there really more of a "drug problem" now than there was in the past 40 years? Has the "War on Drugs" led to anything positive for society?

"metaltester - Heroin is the worst of all the street drugs." - Sorry I think I'd have to disagree, while it's bad, meth and bath salts I think are worse.

Never mentioned is the fact that most heroin is smuggled in by illegal immigrants coming in through Mexico. These are the very same people to whom Democrats want to give amnesty and instant citizenship along with all the welfare benefits they can provide. Don't be surprised that the heroin supply and usage is rising. The prospect of the Democrats' amnesty is encouraging anyone and everyone to flood in for freebies, including drug smugglers. Besides, Obama is letting dangerous crack dealers out of prison, so heroin smugglers may expect such favorable treatment from Obama as well.

Exactly what other legislation can we have? It's already illegal to sell and/or buy. Does that stop people? No. The war on drugs is going nowhere and the more you tell people not to do something the more they want to do it. Prohibition didn't work. Banning pot didn't work. All it's done is create more drugs, and ones that are worse than the original they were trying to stop.
