This sounds like a great alternative to get to chicago for anyone that lives in the NW metro... free parking, no waiting.

A great way to link to the lower-cost international airlines that fly out of Chicago and not be limited to Delta and MSP. Free parking at St. Cloud airport! And much easier to go through security. Ohare also has the train that connects to downtown (versus Midway which does not).

I just wanted to correct something that "trythinking" wrote. Midway airport does have a train that goes downtown. The train from Midway airport to the loop is called the "orange" line, and I believe it might even get you downtown quicker than the "blue" line that departs from O'hare.

actually Midway's train takes less time to get to downtown than the train from Ohare.

Both ORD and MDW have trains to downtown Chicago. And to be honest the Orange Line from MDW tends to be faster. Either way though it's nice to see some diversity in the carriers that serve Minnesota. I feel like as soon as Delta and Northwest merged that they started gutting a lot of the outstate Minnesota (and Dakotas and Wisconsin and other places in the Midwest) service. If it doesn't have something to do with Atlanta, it's expendable in Delta's eyes.

I'm sure the St Cloud community has been lobbying hard for the new service. Hope that will now support it and make it sustainable

With the additional flights now going to become available to Chicago, I would not count on Free parking after this year. They don't have that big of a parking lot at the SC airport and will soon have to look at building a parking ramp.

Why can't they take the North Star Commuter line to the airport? Oh wait no one rides it. Having been through St Cloud, I could imagine a flight anywhere would be a dream come true.

This is good news for the people of St. Cloud.

Great, more noise and air pollution. Progress? Hmm, not so sure.
