MINNEAPOLIS — Trevor Plouffe's spot at third base for the Minnesota Twins is tenuous at best, with one of the best prospects in baseball close behind him.

Great article, Captain Obvious! Sano all the way.

When Mauer first came up and was all excited, one of the first things he did was slide near the backstop wall after a ball that was clearly uncatchable and rip up his knee on a ball that was probably 15 rows deep in the stands. So hopefully someone has a talk with Buxton and Sano so they don't come to the big league camp and immediately run bug-eyed face first into a wall or something.

Hopefully the first of, oh, 8 changes in the field. Or 9 if you count Mauer moving to first.

toosweet64: Yep, Sano has to learn to hit the crooked ball to make it to the next level. He also has to improve his D at third base to be playing there in the future. Either way Ploufe and Sano will be playing for the Twins in the future. One will be at third(the one who plays better D) and one will be in left field as Josh Willingham will be traded as soon as Sano is ready for the bigs. I look for the Twins to cash in on a Willingham trade sometime after the all-star break which will give Sano an opportunity if he is ready ??

50/50/150/150/300/300. Sano's rookie stat line: 50 HR/50 Errors/ 150 Walks/.150 Average/ 300 strikeouts/300 pounds.

Sano could be the next MVP or a total bust. The folks on the farm better be working with him on hitting the breaking ball otherwise it will be a short career and another folly by the Twins scouting department. Can we name the last # 1 or # 2 starter that has come through the Twins farm system that we drafted? I would sign Johan Santana to an incentive laden contract but not Ervin Santana unless we really don't have confidence that a high draft choice will equate to a quality starter. Spend some money on Nelson Cruz to help our offense, please!
