Official: Heroin confirmed in packets in Philip Seymour Hoffman's NY apartment; dozens found

NEW YORK — Tests have confirmed there was heroin in at least some of the scores of plastic packets in the apartment where Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead, a law enforcement official said Monday, and authorities are working to determine whether the drug was mixed or tainted with anything else.

If legalized cannabis was available, the guy might still be alive. He obviously didn't want to be drunk, but wanted a high. It's sad that the most brilliant people are oftentimes also the most depressed - have you read the news lately?

I don't think that offering him pot was going to "keep him alive". If you can buy heroin, you sure can get pot! Very ill person mentally w serious drug addiction. 3 young children...take responsibility.

He wasnt addicted when he had his syringe in his hand the first time. Bad decisions have serious consequences.
