Death comes to the mall as funeral outlets, casket stores seek a livelier sales environment

LOS ANGELES — We eat there, buy our clothes there and some people suspect teenagers may actually live there. So perhaps it was just a matter of time until funeral homes began moving into the local shopping mall.

This will be great because you can have one fit to your size and ourigged with the accoutrements your desire in the afterlife.

Always chasing the dollar. So are they gonna stick 'em next to Victoria's Secret? Or maybe adjacent to the food court? Do what owatonnabill has already arranged for: get cremated on the cheap, get the ashes scattered in a designated place (BWCA for Yours Truly) and leave it up to the Dear Bereaved to figure out what kind of service, if any, to have. Investing several thousands of dollars in a box and suit that's gonna get stuck in the ground and putrefy along with the box's resident just doesn't make a lot of sense.

Now that shopping malls serve the needs of the dead, why not see more services for the living such as full-scale supermarkets?
