Jim Souhan: In four touches, Harvin shows he has the touch for Seahawks

The former Vikings star played in only his third game with his new team, but he had a major impact.

Actually Jim I'd say Seattle should still be POd about the trade and contract. They made it to and would have easily won the game WITHOUT him. They paid him a lot of money and gave up 3 draft picks, to get nothing out of him. They could've saved a lot of money that they could've used to sign some of their FA and to give Wilson a huge raise, which he has coming. They could've used those picks to help replenish an already good team with great depth. Instead they gave up 3 picks and tons of cash for a player they didn't need and who didn't help them. Percy will probably miss more games than he actually plays over the course of his huge contract.

What a ridiculous article. In hindsight, Seattle most likely wouldn't have made this trade. Harvin has been a bust so far and returning a kickoff for a td won't make up for all the draft picks given up or the money tied up in a guy who can't stay healthy and has a bad attitude. Maybe your next article should be about how TJack helped Seattle beat the Broncos in the Super Bowl, lol!

Why do you say the trade enabled them to draft Patterson? Patterson was available when the Vikings used their own 1st round pick, so they could have got him anyway. The thing about a good head coach is - they know how to keep great players happy. So go ahead and say Childress and Frazier couldn't do a thing about it. Really? A good head coach could find a way.

Yeah yeah, Harvin made some plays...that was never the issue... it was every thing else plus his injury history that sealed his fate. Now that he has a SB ring and a guaranteed 25 million, how hard and often do you thing he will play now?

Harvin has been a bust? What world do you live on? The guy was hurt. Probably next year he is league MVP. How do you know? Seriously, Vikings fans should really stop feeling hatred for a guy who couldn't stand to play on a mediocre team, with mediocre coaches and a horrible QB.

Souhan's right this time. He wanted out, got a great deal, contributed to a Super Bowl Championship (not writing that phrase many times on a MSP web page), and next year will be a big piece in their repeat attempt. Meanwhile, Vikings got the best they could in return, and will compete for .500 until they get a QB. Which is exactly why Harvin left - and he was proven right. Good for him.

A good trade for both teams really. It made sense for him to go, we got a lot from him when he was here and trading him away, and the Seahawks received an extremely talented player in return. Everyone wins.

Actually, only Seattle wins. We spent four picks on Patterson and we have holes all over the field. Seattle demonstrated that a top-flight receiver is not necessary to win the Super Bowl. Enough said.

"goldengoph3r": You're lucky I don't report your comment as inapproriate. Clearly you have not seen Flash Patterson play football. Also we spent four picks is a bold statement. We moved up in order to get him, and traded the fair amount of picks back to the patriots. Obviously Belichek is really wishing he had just taken Cordarrelle now.

This game was Seattle's whether Harvin would've run that TD back or not. I've always said Harvin is a good player, but when he's healthy. He played minimal this year due to his constant injuries. One TD does a not a good football player make. He just happened to go to a very good team that got there without Harvin. So to say Harvin single handily helped win this game is ridiculous. With that said, I don't blame Harvin for wanting to get out of here. We had a very inept coaching staff, and a horrendous QB in Ponder. I'm happy he won a Superbowl, but yet I don't think he was pivotal in the Seahawks winning season!
