I am stunned. I really like this guy. He made me laugh. Prayers to his kids, his mom and siblings. He was proud of you mom and I am proud of him.

Prophetic Review... "Hoffman is only 44, but he nevertheless sags in his brokenness like a man closer to retirement age, lugging about his sample cases filled with his self-denial and disillusionment..."

Sad news. He was one of our finest actors, and I was looking forward to seeing his work on screen for many years to come. Condolences to his family and friends.

Hate to say it, but my first response when I heard he was dead was overdose. Unfortunately this is not surprising with celebrities these days.

He was one of the handful of actors with superb talent. He death was needless. Drugs ended another life

The news of his death is very sad indeed, but the news that he leaves behind 3 kids and that his senseless death was caused by a self inflicted overdose of drugs is far sadder still. Add his name to the too long list of actors and other notables who had drug problems which ultimately brought about their demise. What a needless waste it is. I don't understand the fascination with anyone who uses drugs and I never will.

I find myself feeling angry at the story. Someone..get this man into treatment..intervention..rather than it is just for us to enjoy his art. Sad. He has children and now they get to carry this horridness for their lives.
