I am just as concerned about invasion of privacy from private citizens who put cameras on their toy aircraft. I hope the legislature addresses that at the same time.

What bubble are people living in? Stores and businesses have had cameras for over 30 years. My small town in northern Minnesota, Longville, has 4 cameras that monitor all street activity 24/7 and help law enforcement keep crime down. Where do you think those real estate overhead views come from? Why are folks not demanding that banks and financial organizations pony up to go to digital cards, rather than the old technology that causes Target problem? All other developed nations are way ahead of us, again.

Rep. Brian Johnson of Cambridge says he favors balancing "the needs of law enforcement and the civil rights of Minnesotans and their privacy," I would prefer he protect the rights of Minnesotans and limit law enforcement and public unfettered use of drones. Restrict drone intrusion on the airspace 5000 feet above and around any piece of private property.

I've already set use standards for airspace above my proeprty, it is off limits to all drones. Any drone caught operating there, trespassing, will subject it's owners to bopth drone loss and a stiff fine for their incursion.
