This lawsuit appears to be more about the plaintiffs being opposed to building a new municipal center than putting it to a referendum vote. Some of the plaintiffs have made it clear the building is unnecessary and excessive. Some plaintiffs have been acting as if they are champions of Mom, apple pie, the American Way and the Forest Lake Voters while in reality it sure seems that they are trying to legislate by lawsuit because they are opposed to the project and have the money to force their desires on the city of Forest Lake. In the meantime the the lawsuit continues to waste the Forest Lake Taxpayer's money in the way of the city council defending themselves for making a decision they were elected to make. In some people's world the elections shouldn't matter if you have the money to sue. The courts have thrown out the lawsuit twice but some people won't take No for an answer. Wouldn't it be great if when the final court decision is made, the Losers would have to reimburse all the legal fees paid by the Winning party. In this case, I expect that will ultimately be the plaintiffs but the taxpayers will still lose because they are paying the City's legal fees. By the way the building is being built under budget and on time.

Pass legal fees to the plaintiffs. What a waste.
