Wisconsin high school won't bring back Mukwonago Indian mascot after fighting to keep it

MUKWONAGO, Wis. — Walk inside the Wisconsin high school that was the focus of a fight over Native American mascots and you'd be hard-pressed to find a single image of the school's Indian logo or mention of its nickname.

On the one hand, the Native American mascots - and many of them did cross over into universally accepted offensive territory - are disappearing. On the other, the visibility of Native Americans will also be diminished...and I can't tell if the sum of both outcomes is better than the current situation.
