Atlanta mayor defends using emergency lanes in gridlock to reach Weather Channel for interview

ATLANTA — Atlanta's mayor is defending his use of emergency lanes at the height of Tuesday's icy traffic jam so he could do an interview at The Weather Channel's studios.

Maybe next time the "news desk" can send a "mobile truck" to interview the mayor. Or telephones are sometimes nice too. Just a thought.

What good is power if you can't abuse it? OBVIOUSLY, that lane was built for the Mayor in such situations.

i like how many times they emphasize that they didn't stop to help a single person. "we never stopped." "we never interfered." "we just went around cars stuck in our way." "there were stranded cars and people everywhere, but our lane was pretty open!"

The Mayor of Atlanta is a dem. Has been for 40 years. At least the governor (a Republican)took responsibility for the problems. The mayor...not. Seems to be a trend for that party.
