Sorry, but thats a dumb idea! If one small apartment building displaces enough water to undermine the ecology of the lakes and the water table, what do you think a half mile long tunnel is going to do?

Just do it right the first time! If you can't go through uptown. Bury this thing deep and help preserve an awesome area.

I applaud the Star Tribune for two consecutive unbiased news articles on this situation.

While I haven't finished the full report, I still don't understand how the freight reroute in St. Louis Park is still a possibility when 5 of the 7 options were removed from consideration due to the exact same circumstances as the proposed reroute through St. Louis Park. How is this possible?

The dumb and truly careless idea is routing LRT through the Chain of Lakes. Get a clue Minneapolis. It's the 21st century - other cities are working to reclaim and grow urban green space.

Once again I will post: I look forward to finding out how many businesses and residences will need to be demolished for the "new" reroute plan through St. Louis Park, versus moving a bike trail.

THIS SITUATION is starting to remind me of the Keystone pipeline.

The thought that ANYONE would find it appropriate to dig a tunnel near Cedar Lake when a recent apartment built "1800 Lake on Calhoun" now requires pumping an estimated 100 million gallons of groundwater a year being pumped out of the garage due to POOR planning by Minneapolis officials. When are people going to wake up and realize we as humans are doomed when we have no clean water left? STOP THIS INSANE PLAN!

Run the train through uptown via the greenway and then up Nicollet Ave. problem solved.
