Schafer: In N.J., Wilfs' simple legal dispute goes haywire

  • Article by: LEE SCHAFER , Star Tribune

A quick Google search of “Zygi Wilf” with the word “evil” turns up a lot of hits, and for this permanent public relations wound Wilf can thank the Hon. Deanne Wilson of the Chancery Division of Superior Court in Morris County, N.J.

Since the Wilf's wouldn't comply with the courts request for their net worth(a number of requests by the court), I'm surprised the judge didn't put them in jail until they did. Evil probably isn't a far off description for the truth. The court is fed up with non compliance.

Nice job trying to whitewash the Wilfs. Still looks like fraud with double bookkeeping and all. Or was that not the case? The judge seems more credible than the Wilfs. Maybe the Star Tribune should publish the transcripts as an installment series with commentary by local legal experts. Might be entertaining while the stadium is being built!

Sounds like a Soprano episode.

And now the State is in business with them. Unsettling at least.

Vikes double in value the day the stadium opens. Put a Minnesota ownership group together now.

You get a bunch of cantankerous, litigious people nurturing a lot of greed and personal vendettas, and this sort of travesty on the court system happens. I've read a couple of long articles on this case, and they're all villains. The so-called "Holocaust Builders" became prominent in New Jersey right after WWII, and they were driven, haunted, desperate people, not surprisingly. The Wilfs we know come from that tradition, where failure or even a temporary setback feels to them like the threat of a horrible death. One can certainly understand the motivation, but I wouldn't get involved with desperate people. They're utterly ruthless. You could get caught up in a situation like this one.

Don't we have more important things to worry about? It's nobody's business here in MN what's going on in the Wif's lives. Leave it alone.

"It's nobody's business here in MN what's going on in the Wif's lives. Leave it alone." ..............I disagree, scoty2hoty. The State went into business with these guys, who are obviously more than a couple of degrees south of honest. THAT bothers me greatly.

"and for this permanent public relations wound Wilf can thank the Hon. Deanne Wilson of the Chancery Division of Superior Court" Now that's "stinkin' thinkin'" -- as if it has nothing to do with Wilf's behavior. Wow...
