Retiree who called 911 for man is fatally shot in his north Minneapolis home

A 69-year-old grandfather was allegedly shot dead by a man who asked for help and who is now in custody.

This is horrible, and of course it will lead to people being less inclined towards being a good samaritan.

Lots of threats are being tossed around online between 3 gangs. Maybe one of them followed through.

Tragic. But, if this had occurred in the 3700 block of SOUTH Aldrich would the Strib headline have said "south Minneapolis"? I am not so much interested in a response here. Just watch headlines and how this newspaper consistently identifies "north Minneapolis" as if it were someplace other than Minneapolis. BTW, I live in SOUTH Minneapolis.

Yeah I'm pretty sure they would have said South Minneapolis if indeed it happened in South Minneapolis. Nobody's picking on North Minneapolis.

This so sickens me. This could've been my mother. I've been to far too many of these murder scenes.
