US stocks fall on disappointing earnings and more emerging markets trouble

NEW YORK — U.S. stocks are lower in midday trading as investors fret over disappointing results from Amazon.com and more trouble in overseas markets.

What? Obama was bragging just 3 days ago about the stock market being so high! Of course, he did NOT mention the fact that the stock market was so high solely because the Federal Reserve has been PRINTING money for almost 4 years and using it to buy securities to artificially lower interest rates and inflate stock values. Every time the Fed announces it is considering ending its program, the stock market TANKS. Days ago the Fed announced it was "trimming" its $85 billion monthly securities purchases back to $75 billion and the stock market reacted by dropping. Funny how that works, huh?

OK investors, do you feel frisky or risky? Most people do not look very frisky at all. And look at what January has offered all of you climbers. What January shows is most of the time exactly what you will get for 2014. Do I hear some doubts? Big doubts? You had better think that one through.
