Ex-slaughterhouse manager gets 41-month sentence for harboring, exploiting immigrants in Iowa

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A former manager at an Iowa slaughterhouse will spend 30 more months in prison for harboring and financially exploiting immigrant workers who were in the U.S. illegally, a federal judge ruled Friday.

I am glad to see the government cracking down on corrupt employers that exploit fraudulently documented foreigners. But I am also very dissapointed that most of the workers were arrested were let loose back into the streets instead of being deported. Big mistake!

If the US Government started cracking down on more corrupt employers and deporting fradulently documented foreigners we could put millions of unemployed Americans back to work.

I'm glad they nailed this clown. And they should prosecute the workers for fraud, perjury and identity theft as well as deport them.

Gee. A thug for a boss who sexually assaults his workers at a place where they kill animals all day. Who would have thunk it?!

Why no mention of the owner of this hellhole? Why didn't the Associated Press writer pursue this angle? Certainly the manager deserved more than he got, but to forget the owner is way to convenient.
