Giving kids with peanut allergies doses of peanut flour helped many safely eat a few nuts

LONDON — An experimental therapy that fed children with peanut allergies small amounts of peanut flour has helped more than 80 percent of them safely eat a handful of the previously worrisome nuts.

I wonder why there are no peanut allergies in S.E. Asia where people cook with peanut oil all the time. Maybe we need to be exposed in small amounts to the things that we are allergic to in order to create an immunity that suppresses the allergy.
