You want to ride a train, PAY to ride the train. I'll pay for it when *I* use it, but not for everyone else just because I live in the local geography.

Perfect. More taxes and more reason to spend more time out of MN in the sun and warmth of a lower taxed state.

I know this is a radical idea, but go with me for a minute. Since it's not yet built and isn't needed, how about NOT building it at all? That will keep us from "needing" to raise taxes and forcing people to take money from their families to pay for liberals new shiny thing.

Hennepin County Commissioner Peter McLaughlin must have some kind of agenda when he blames the Republicans while the truth is it was Mr. Dayton who derailed it in the bonding request.

Sales taxes are no solid way to fund a project or budget. California, Arizona and other states have tried this and failed. For example, Arizona's sales tax is 9.1+ percent in some localities and California's in 10+ percent. Imagine paying that sales tax on almost everything you pay for, like car, furniture, etc. Moreover, sales taxes revenue may go up in "good times", but would most certainly go down in "bad times". When that happens - count on income taxes going up.

Stop the madness. Stop wasting our money on these inefficient light rail projects. Buses are less costly and offer flexible routing.

Sheeeeesh! In the land of 10,000 socialists, next thing you know, an unelected body will wield tax-influencing powers.... WHOOOOOPS! It's already happened!

I'm all for LRT, but I am getting sick of 15 NIMBY's deciding to tax everyone in the City who are already taxed to the gills for senseless stadiums. Enough already!!

If it's hard to find the money, MAYBE it is because people (who aren't DFL office holders) don't want it. I hope the Republicans and rural DFLers in the House can stop this again. If I want to ride a Subway train, I'll go to London.
