Major League Baseball has given teams until 2015 to beef up security at ballpark entrances, but the Twins aren’t waiting. The first metal detectors should be in place by Opening Day.

The return of Jack Morris is a real plus for the broadcasts. I'd like to see him get some radio time, too -- he's an excellent addition. Good analyst, and tells good stories.

Those season ticket holder numbers are a little suspect from the Twins. Yes, I renewed my account but cut back on the number of tickets, going from 6 to 4 tickets/game for the full season. My friend did the same. They probably took about a 30% hit in total number of tickets for the full season...which has to motivate someone...calling all Pohlads.

Great now I'll have to hide my pocket knife under a rock outside the stadium. Meanwhile my bicycle is still getting taken apart on the west side of the stadium where there are no video cameras. My bike got vandalized twice last year on Twins property. Twins response..."sorry, we've heard that happens a lot."

With these metal detectors Pohlad should now be better able to determine which fan's still have a nickel in their pocket, and concentrate his marketing on getting those last nickels collected before selling the team.

Will the new security help stop opposing teams from stealing bases?

Well, no worries. You add metal detectors, I ain't coming to your park. Downtown Minneapolis is unsafe enough as it is; now you expect me to walk around the city, and your park, littered with obnoxious and drunk fans, completely unable to defend myself? Nope. By they way, dvsdan123...outstanding comment!

Yeah, with all the violence and terroristic threats, at Target field we better beef up, OMG. I guess I better get a plastic flask.

I am a serious season ticket holder since 1976 {4 full season tix} and I'm telling you right now Selig or whomever, I feel VIOLATED. I am burning. No one needs to feel that they are going to North Korea.

At least part of the new security will be to ensure that the fans are NOT allowed to leave the stadium 'til they have spent every last cent they have on them. Beer here. Ice cold very expensive beer here!

while this sounds like a HUGE inconvenience trying to get30,000 through the metal detectors in a timely manner, By June 1st the crowds will be back below 10,000 for the rest of the year ( just like last year), and getting through security will be a breeze!
