All it would take is to have the prez (whichever party) stay home and not take Air Force One out for a little jaunt and it would pay for another year more of this exciting scientific instrument to keep on chugging. As long as it works, it would be more than a shame to shut it off. Pull a little foreign aid, or some political pork off the agenda and let the little engine that could keep going. Bravo, Opportunity.

It is absolutely amazing to me that Opportunity and curiosity are working so well to provide us with scientific data on the planet. In Opportunity's case for over ten years now. Wow!

Got a little Forest Gump in 'em that Opportunity, don't he? This is like planning to walk 2 blocks to the store but instead you end up walking to Patagonia. Sweet
