I hope our public officials take note of this. These trains go right through the heart of Minneapolis and St. Paul. A "major loss of life" would be exactly the scenario here. It's time to act.

Maybe somebody could invent a system of pipes that could carry this product from point A to point B. They could call it a pipeline. Probably a lot safer than taking flammable fluids and propelling them down a railroad track at 80+ mph.

The oil from Canada will move to market with the XL pipeline or without it. The only question is do we want those trains traveling thru all those cities or do we want it done safer with a pipeline.

Peoplewatchr, a Mr Warren Buffett, One of the two major donors that got Barack Hussein Obama elected, has cashed in on his investment by getting Obama to oppose all pipeline projects so Buffett's railroad could haul the oil and profit Buffett billions of dollars. The millions Buffett laundered through various organizations to Obama and his supporters look like a real great investment for Buffett right now.

Maybe the question should be..why are we using our land to move Canadian fuel. Let them use their land.

lets NOT run a pipeline thru northern minnesota wilderness. Lets NOT pollute the groundwater, and the aquifers we drink from. We need water more than oil..

Comment44, follow highway 10 up the map to Bismarck. Half those towns have churches, homes, schools, businesses within two blocks of the mainline tracks. This a disaster being ignored. Ii'm beginning to think the piPelines might be safer. But only to internal US refineries, not to the sea ports.

Just build the #*%& pipeline through Nebraska. Warren Buffet made a wise decision purchasing the railroads, the profits are beyond his wildest dreams. For those who do not know the source of this crude,, it is light sweet crude coming from North Dakota not the heavy tar sand crude from Canada. Light sweet is much more volatile (explosive).

Railroads only care about the bottom line.. don't care about the public or employees...They have insurance to cover the derailments so they keep loading up the trains and making them heavier and longer.. and ONE man runs the whole train...
