Good thing he doesn't attend Harvard or one of the other real expensive private colleges. He would have needed a wheelbarrow full of one dollar bills to pay for a semester.

I like how the regents decide that the workers need a cost of living adjustment of 5%... taken from the students.

I love it! As students have passively taken the unreasonable hikes in tuition from our bloated colleges in recent years I was wondering if they had all turned into sheep. Good to see some activism. Until the fed and states quit giving money to colleges and we get some competition the fat and happy colleges will continue to pass costs onto students and do nothing to reform.

There is competition, it's called a private college. Ever heard of a cheap one?

Since when did they start printing "2000 dollar bills"? Oh, they meant the headline to say "2000 one dollar bills".

I'd be happy to pay only $2000 a semester for my kids, even if it excluded roam & board!

I'm always amused by people whose worldview is, "Other people should be willing to work for peanuts so that I can have everything I want." I've never yet heard one of them add, "I'd be willing to take a 30% pay cut so my employer can provide more affordable services to its customers!"

Get rid of all the staff members that are 65-80+ years old off the payroll and you'd solve a lot of financial problems at most universities.
