Darn the twinks were outbid again! "We're going to do what we've got to do to win"...never a quote you'll hear out of the Twins front office that's for sure.

Don't you mean replaces Phil Hughes in the rotation after being stolen away by the Minnesota Twins?

Here's hoping for another big flop for the Yankees. Now THAT would be funny!

480 million on 4 players? Wow. Thats ridiculous and out of hand. This league seriously needs a salary cap.

I'm sure Terry came in a close second in the negotiations for this guy...

Its not that the Twins couldnt afford to sign Masahiro Tanaka, but since trading Johan , they havent had an Ace...why? because then they would have to pay him...to ownership it is better to pocket that money and find another Carl Pavano.

I am hoping this works out as well for the Yankees as Nishioka did for the Twins.

The reason so few teams bid was that they all knew he was going to the Dodgers or the Yankees, so you can put your little checkbooks away. You were fooling yourself if you thought he was going to someplace like Minnesota. It had more to do with the team and promotional chances than money.

MD you are part right, it had to do with ....not losing 96_ games the last 3 seasons and still looking like we are 2-3 years away from fielding a winning team. the guy just won Japans world series, why would he want to go to a rebuilding team , like the Cubs ,Chi-Sox, Stros or Twins?

Why can't a guy making that kind of money pay for his own place to live near their training facility? Like I always said, " if somebody is will to pay that kind of money, he must be worth it".Bet some of the mighty Twins hitters will look even worse against this guy.
