MOBILE, Ala. – Adam Zimmer hasn’t officially joined the Vikings staff, but it would have been hard to tell at the Senior Bowl on Monday.

If the Vikings fall in love with a quarterback or two at the top of the draft they are going to trade up. People might not like that but the last two times the Vikings have traded up they have scored with Harrison Smith and Cordarrell Patterson. The Wilfs will again spend on free agents and Zimmer's defense can be helped with that spending that's sure to come. You just don't find many quality quarterbacks in free agency. Teams retain their quality quarterbacks.

I expect that the move, to bring in in Turner, as OC, was to free up Zimmer, to do what he does best, run the Defense. This is not much different than a few years ago, when Dungy brought in Moore to run the Offense in Indy. Now if we could just get a young Payton Manning to mold into an NFL QB that would be great. I don't see a very long track record for Edwards. Have read that Zimmer didn't want a DC that had a different style than his. When team's hire an OC as the Head Coach, a lot of times they bring in a seasoned DC, so they can spend most of their time on the Offense. Have know idea who the Spielman will draft. I have looked at the FA lists, and there is a million different ways to go about rebuilding. Should make for a really interesting off-season. GO VIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adam Murrey would be a great add in about the 4th round. Defense up to that point.

Sorry Aaron Murray from GA.

Drafting is where you build a team, not free agents.

Well I know it is a stretch but... AP has a few more years in him. Trade up to get what we would hope is a NFL ready QB. I know you never really know when you draft a QB but it is worth a shot. Then build the defense through what might be left of the draft and add some free agents. I am not that happy about the defensive coordinator that was hired but we will see. In the end, I just dont want to keep seeing the rest of the NFC North win games with top notch QBs and the Vikings throw Spuergon Wynn at them....

With the whole team that Zim will inherent, the Vikings have to use both the draft and free agents to get a respectable team within two years (When they open their new stadium). I think we will see Zim's philosophy for building a team within these first two years. Hopefully by then we'll have our future QB in place. I think we also have to start looking for AP's replacement too. As good as AP is, he'll be 2 years older and he's getting beat up more often. But unless someone "falls" to the Vikings we can get a RB next year or even in the first year of the new stadium. We NEED to get a few more GOOD OL men and the rest can be spent on the defense.

SIGN free agents you know what your getting.DRAFT picks you dont.

Fine as long as he brings some good DBs with him.

Here's my prediction. We take either Khalil Mack or Nix with our first pick at 8; and then we trade up in the second to grab Garopollo. Jacksonville is definitely interested so we would need to jump in front of them in the second.
